Rev. Gene Bryson
Rev. Gene Bryson was appointed to NorthPoint United Methodist Church in July 2021. Prior to this appointment, he served at both Lorena UMC in Lorena, Texas, as well as an Associate Pastor at White’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Southlake, Texas.
Born and raised in Shreveport, Louisiana, Gene married his high school sweetheart, Stephanie, and they have two sons, Connor and Cameron. Prior to serving at White’s Chapel, Gene practiced law as an Assistant District Attorney for over a decade, as well as was a partner in a private firm for several years. After responding to a call for ordained ministry, Gene and his family moved from Louisiana to Texas in 2014 for him to complete his Master of Divinity at Perkins School of Theology through Southern Methodist University. After serving two appointments in Texas, Gene returned to his roots in July of 2021. Although changing careers, Rev. Gene believes that his previous experience in the non-church related workforce, often finding himself professionally handling moments of crisis, but allowing the Holy Spirit to lead his decisions with wisdom, equips him for the journey of ministry ahead. Gene enjoys date nights with his wife, Stephanie, spending time with his family and friends grilling out, watching movies, traveling, preaching and teaching. |
