NorthPoint News

September 2, 2010

As we begin this month of September, I guess we're officially in school and more in a routine, and our schedules looking more predictable.

The final four months of each year are typically the strongest for us as far as numbers and giving and strength are concerned.  They will be in 2010, too.

This is one of the reasons we've waited until this time to move into the new schedule.  KEEP THAT DATE OF SEPTEMBER 12 IN YOUR THOUGHTS AND PRAYERS AS WE BEGIN OUR NEW SCHEDULE THAT DAY.

We gather around the Table of Grace this Lord's Day on Communion Sunday.

And bring a friend with you as we come for this special time together.

See you then,

Steve

Moore About Students

We were blessed with almost 60 in attendance during Student PrimeTime on Wednesday, and the chicken spaghetti made by Tammy Herbert was great!  Big "ups" to her for the huge pan of chicken spaghetti, sugar and chocolate chip cookies.

The lesson tonight was on the subject of lying from the book of Proverbs, and how it is mentioned twice in the six things God hates the most.

Everyone enjoyed the slideshow from Magic Springs, and we are looking forward to another great trip coming up in December to Branson.

Be here Sunday for a fun filled lesson.......

God Bless,

Kevin Moore

The dates of the trip are March 7-16, 2011 and will involve a tour of Israel including: Tel Aviv, Mt. Carmel, Nazareth (Jesus' boyhood home), the Sea of Galilee (Capernaum, Beatitudes Site, Mt. Hermon, Baptism in the Jordan River), Jericho, Dead Sea, Masada, Bethlehem (Jesus' Birthplace) and Jerusalem (Temple Mount, Wailing Wall, Upper Room, Mount of Olives, Garden of Gethsemane and Communion in the Garden Tomb).

Make your plans now to go on this once-in-a-lifetime experience!

Our Deepest Sympathies

Our deepest Christian sympathies go to Dan and Denise Maples in the passing of Denise's grandmother, Ms. Lera Woodard.  Her memorial service was Wednesday, September 1, at Rose-Neath (Marshall Street).  Be sure and remember this family in your thoughts and prayers.

The Next-to-Last Word

We continue to develop and improve the exterior of our Church, so staying "in the lines" - that is, staying on the drives and parking lots will be increasingly important for all of us.

Often, there are ruts in the lawn and this week - in the flower beds to the side of the front door.

We are moving at this time to plant and landscape the front of our Church Building and will be doing so in the next few weeks - to make it even more attractive.

Please be extra careful as you drive through and around the Church.

Thanks!
