Pointing people to Christ

NorthPoint News

February 2, 2012

First of all, thank you all so much for the kind words, gracious gifts and rousing version of "Happy Birthday" on Sunday morning.

It's not often that I get to share birthday wishes with you all on Sunday - but this was such a day.  And I'm pleased to share that birthday with our own Bess Meyers, as well as Tom Selleck!

At the first of the year, I mentioned to you the hope I had to leave kneeling benches at our altar on Sunday mornings and enlist a group of people to participate in a "Barnabas Ministry" of prayerful support & encouragement for those who would feel led to come, kneel and pray during our Worship Services on Sundays.

On the next two Sundays, February 12 & 19, you'll find a short insert in the Bulletin, explaing the ministry and asking if you would be led to participate in this Prayer Ministry (you'll see a longer and more detailed explanation in next week's newsletter, too).  Give it some thought and prayer.  You could be a part of changing someone's life.

This week, we'll come for Communion Sunday and our study of the Affirmation of Faith brings us to see the part of that Statement that deals with the Church.  I hope to see you then.

See you Sunday,

Steve

Moore About Students

Making God the center of everything we do.  That was the topic of discussion  in PrimeTime on Wednesday night.

The students discussed what the focal points of daily life were, and if they would make God the focal point, how their lives would change and change for the better.

We should always be mindful of our actions at all times, because actions speak louder than words when being a Christian in schools today.  Each student was challenged to (1) Keep God the focal point of their lives; (2) Remember our actions as Christians speak louder than words.

Upcoming :

Valentines Banquet February 12 @ 6:00 P.M.  Tickets to be sold on the next two Sunday mornings.

God Bless,

Kevin

2012 Bible Reading Guide

Did you know that 90% of all Christians in the world have not read the Bible entirely through?  It's true!

Why not make 2012 the year when you begin to capture the message of God's Word for you and your family.  Each week, you'll find suggested readings in this Newsletter and Sunday Bulletin that will take you on a short, daily guide to reading the Bible entirely through in one calendar year.

Our 2012 Guide will follow a blended format, allowing you to add variety from the Old and New Testament to your daily Bible reading.

God bless you in this Journey!
